Kershaw founder Pete Kershaw knew how important guaranteed quality was. In late 1974, he decided to start his own knife company in a cement factory in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
In Japan, Kai CEO Koji Endo believed Kershaw had even greater growth potential. In 1996, Endo invested in the American manufacturing facility at Kai USA's Wilsonville headquarters. He believed this would help Kershaw reach its full potential. Soon, Kai USA hired a new production team for the job.

It is clear why the Launch 10 earned the nickname "The Claw" here at Kershaw headquarters. It features an aggressive hawkbill-style blade with angular planes on both the blade spine and the handle. Yet despite all that angularity, the Launch 10 carries, grips, and uses comfortably. Thanks to its curved blade, it is especially practical for opening or breaking down boxes, or for cutting rope or cord. "The Claw" is made from the same upgraded materials as the rest of the Launch series and makes a great addition to your collection.
