Böker – the factory’s history dates back to the 17th century, when the original forge was located in Remscheid. In 1829–30, production was expanded to include sabres and swords. At that time, the factory employed more than 100 blacksmiths and grinders. In the second half of the 19th century, part of the family moved to the USA and Canada, where they founded additional manufacturing plants. The last of the Böker siblings, Heinrich, moved to Solingen, where most of today’s production comes from.
