COLD STEEL has revived the previously produced and very popular Hold Out folding knife, now offered in four blade versions. Compared to the original version, these knives use the significantly more refined S35VN powder stainless steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very tough and durable, but it can also take an excellent edge, which then offers long-lasting edge retention. The very fine-grained powder steel with a uniform microstructure provides highly consistent properties. It remains durable even with a very fine edge bevel, is reliable, and highly corrosion resistant. It is a good choice for high-quality custom knives and tools. The CPM process (powder metallurgy) guarantees a very homogeneous, high-quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good sharpenability, and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite the lower chromium content, this steel shows very good corrosion resistance. The handle of the Hold Out knives is made of G-10 fiberglass. The handle surface has a rough texture and is not slippery even in sweaty or wet hands. This knife series is also equipped with the unique patented Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™. The lock prevents the knife from closing accidentally or unintentionally even after natural wear over time.
