COLD STEEL has revived the previously produced and very popular Hold Out folding knife, offering it in four blade versions. Compared to the original version, the knives now use the significantly more refined S35VN powdered stainless steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very rigid and durable, but it can also achieve excellent sharpness, with an edge that retains it for a long time. The very fine-grained powder steel with a uniform microstructure offers highly stable properties. It remains resistant even with a very fine edge bevel, is reliable, and highly corrosion resistant. It is a good choice for high-quality custom knives and tools. The CPM process (powder metallurgy) guarantees a very homogeneous, high-quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good sharpenability, and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite its lower chromium content, this steel performs very well in terms of corrosion resistance. The handle of the Hold Out knives is made of G-10 fiberglass. The handle surface has a rough texture and is not slippery even in sweaty or wet hands. This knife series is also equipped with the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents the knife from closing accidentally or unintentionally, even after natural wear over time.
