The blade was designed by Andrew Demko after extensive testing and experimentation during his work as a traveling electrician and engineer. While making his own multipurpose handmade work knives, he created his own hybrid Karambit / Hawkbill blade that could cut rope, cable, wire, and anything else his profession put in his path. This knife served him well through many years of hard use, and when Cold Steel tasked him with developing his own folding Karambit, this blade shape immediately came to mind.

A replica of Andrew’s original blade design, but made from premium S35VN steel, the Tiger Claw ™ offers the tactical cutting and slashing performance of the Filipino and Indonesian fighting Karambit combined with the utility and function of a working man’s Hawkbill. With the patented Demko thumb plate, the Tiger Claw ™ offers fully ambidextrous fast pocket draw, either in a saber grip or in the traditional Karambit edge-down grip, with quick and easy blade deployment! The Demko Tiger Claw ™ is made in his minimalist style and features a slim CNC-machined G-10 handle, a matte black aluminum ring, and our exclusive Tri-Ad locking system. The Tri-Ad lock is engineered to withstand astonishing impact forces and to be virtually impervious to shock, having passed the most grueling torture tests in the industry.
