Extrema Ratio FULCRUM BLACK Fixed Blade Knife
Detailed product description
Extrema Ratio FULCRUM BLACK Fixed Blade Knife.
Probably a milestone among multipurpose knives.
It is widely used in Afghanistan as standard issue by members of the Italian “Nibbio” mission and is part of an experimental project by the Alpine Troops Command aimed at renewing individual equipment.
During preparations for this mission, the Alpine Troops Command coordinated a team of companies in the development of a new and complete experimental set of individual equipment.
Extrema Ratio is the company selected by the Alpine Troops Command to develop a multipurpose knife suitable for infantry use, a knife that can be used in any action and can successfully solve any type of problem, even when specialized equipment proves inadequate. It was so successful that the multipurpose knife later led to the development of the Fulcrum bayonet, which had the same characteristics but could be attached to the issued rifle.
Fulcrum is an extremely robust and versatile knife; the blade withstands loads of over 150 kg without breaking, the tip is incredibly strong, and the “tanto” profile means the knife can be used for a long time without affecting the sharpness of the final section. This guarantees, together with the partially sharpened back edge (not included on the civilian version), its penetrating ability, which is essential in close combat against targets with heavy clothing, garments, and soft ballistic protection.
Thanks to its forward balance and weight, it is suitable for heavy field work.
The speed and ease with which routine and extraordinary maintenance can be carried out make the Fulcrum an excellent choice for large-scale use from an economic and administrative point of view.
