The result of a project sponsored by COFS (Comando delle Operazioni delle Forze Speciali, the command of operations among the Italian special forces) and its former commander-in-chief, General Bertolini—not to mention the support of knife collectors around the world—this 39-09 combat knife is a restyling of the 1939 “paracadutista assaltatore” (Assault Paratrooper) knife, a celebrated piece of Italian military history. While preserving the original shape, structure, and proportions, it has been reinforced, made more functional, and produced to current military specifications using state-of-the-art materials. Small changes make it a highly effective and reliable dagger. The supplied hard sheath is designed for ankle carry, in the characteristic style of Italian paratroopers. The 39-09 ORDINANZA version features a black oxide coating with the COFS logo and motto. It comes with an engraved ABS case, an ankle sheath, and a parade belt sheath.
