Fixed Knife Extrema Ratio MK2.1 DESERT WARFARE
Detailed product description
Fixed Knife Extrema Ratio MK2.1 DESERT WARFARE
A revised classic, a tribute to a war veteran: the MK2.1 is a restyling of the MARK 2 combat dagger, one of the most widespread knives of World War II. Our goal with such an ambitious design project was to preserve the original’s distinctive qualities and introduce only those changes we considered strictly functional in order to improve its effectiveness. The blade is made of cobalt steel, while AISI 303 and AISI 304 are used for the other parts, and the leather handle has been replaced with glass-fiber-reinforced nylon. It retains the ergonomics of the original Mark 2, while all structural components have been oversized to create a robust, high-performance multipurpose knife. The most significant changes are aimed at correcting the known “weak points” of the parent knife: these include the possibility of tool-free field disassembly, a straightened modified Bowie profile that makes edge maintenance easier, and barrel-shaped grooves on the handle, both of which help the user properly orient the blade in the dark and improve grip during twisting movements (the “screwdriver” effect). Minor additions include lanyard holes in the pommel and rod-mounting holes on the front guard. Our usual Extrema Ratio “side groove” has replaced the traditional fuller for better appearance and reduced weight. It includes a standard thigh sheath with an automatic retention mechanism and protective flap. Available versions: MK2.1 BLACK, MK2.1 DESERT WARFARE.
