Kershaw founder Pete Kershaw understood how important guaranteed quality is. In late 1974, he decided to start his own knife company in a cement plant in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
In Japan, Kai CEO Koji Endo believed Kershaw had even greater growth potential. In 1996, Endo invested in an American manufacturing facility at Kai USA headquarters in Wilsonville. He believed this would help Kershaw reach its full potential. Soon after, Kai USA hired a new production team for the job.

The distinctive angular Jetpack joins the Kershaw lineup with a range of practical features. This liner lock folder is highly effective for piercing cuts thanks to its tanto blade. Handle everyday work tasks efficiently with the ergonomic handle. A glass-filled nylon overlay gives the steel handle a unique look. This Starter Series knife is upgraded with an 8Cr13MoV steel blade for longer edge retention. When it comes to getting work done, the sky is the limit with the Jetpack.
