The Mega-Manix features Spyderco’s patented Ball Bearing Lock™. Full internal handle liners extend beyond the G-10 scales and are jimped around the perimeter, ensuring exceptional grip and handle control.

The Manix 2 XL is an oversized version of the Manix 2 with a blade measuring just under four inches. The blade locks open using Spyderco’s patented Ball Bearing Lock™. The lock consists of a free-floating steel ball bearing enclosed in a high-tech polymer cage. When opened, the ball bearing moves forward onto a ramp on the blade, where it wedges in place to lock the blade securely.

The spherical shape of the ball allows it to rotate freely, enabling the lock to self-adjust across a large surface area and ensuring smooth, reliable lockup every time the knife is opened. The blade is CPM S30V, full-flat ground, and features Spyderco’s oversized 14 mm round hole.

The liners inside the G-10 handle protrude slightly and create a jimped pattern around the perimeter of the handle for enhanced grip. This feature helps prevent the knife from slipping from the hand and works well when wearing gloves. The liners serve a dual purpose by adding rigidity and lightweight strength to the handle. The three-screw clip can be mounted on either side, tip-up, for convenient pocket carry. The knife also features a large lanyard hole to accommodate various types of cords or straps.
