Spyderco Ceramic Golden Stone Sharpener Fine 308F
Detailed product description
Spyderco Ceramic Golden Stone Sharpener Fine 308F
The Spyderco Golden Stone sharpener includes all the curves and angles needed to sharpen any edge. Made in the USA from Alumina Ceramic, it is created through a process that combines a bonding agent with aluminum oxide particles (which are actually synthetic sapphires measuring 15 to 25 microns). It is then kiln-fired at temperatures exceeding 3000 degrees F (1649 °C), where it reaches 9 (out of 10) on the Mohs hardness scale, and is cooled in stages. Ceramic sharpeners are used dry, without oil or water. The fine-grit Golden Stone has closed cells and does not wear with use or over time, excelling at polishing and professional finishing of any edge. Its angles and side profiles include: a flat stone, a groove for deburring and honing pointed objects. By holding the stone vertically on a tabletop and tilting it from one side to the other, one edge is raised off the table, creating a 20° angle (40° inclusive angle) for sharpening knife blades. Both sides are elliptical. One side has a large radius for sharpening PlainEdges, the other a smaller radius for SpyderEdges (serrations). When placed horizontally on its side, it creates a 12.5° angle for sharpening scissors. The suede leather pouch serves as a non-slip pad for tabletop sharpening. Cleaning: rinse in water and dry. It is temperature-resistant and suitable for the dishwasher and autoclave. It currently does not come with any instructions, packaging, or support DVD.
