The “Thin Blue Line” is a symbolic reference to the role of law enforcement as the barrier that keeps society from falling into violent chaos. To honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s police officers, Spyderco created the “Thin Blue Line” series, featuring distinctive versions of some of our most popular lightweight knives. The tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle of these knives is injection molded in black with a bright blue liner. When assembled with a matching blue FRN backspacer, they create a striking visual metaphor for the “thin blue line.” Unlike the standard versions of these models, the VG-10 stainless steel blades of these knives also combine the low-friction edge geometry of a full-flat grind with the extreme cutting power of Spyderco serrations. They are also laser engraved with the motto “To Serve and Protect” to honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement professionals. The Thin Blue Line Rescue model’s fully serrated SpyderEdge sheepfoot blade offers the perfect balance of safety and cutting performance.

In addition to their uniqueness, the “Thin Blue Line” knives also support a good cause. A portion of all sales of these knives will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life on September 11, 2001, to save others. Tunnel to Towers operates several charitable programs that support first responders and military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice of life and health for our country.
