There are many reasons why Spyderco offers smaller knives, but people’s hands simply come in different sizes, and sometimes we find ourselves in social situations that call for the use of a smaller blade. Many assume that smaller versions of the same model are simply scaled down. That is not the case. To ensure each design achieves the highest level of ergonomic comfort and maximum performance, we often take key features and adapt them into a smaller pattern. A good example is our 79mm version of the Rescue Model.

The smaller equivalent of the C14 93mm Rescue also features a flat-ground SpyderEdge VG-10 blade finished with a safety tip. For smoother thumb opening, we enlarged the round Spyderco Trademark Round Hole, which also creates a pronounced hump for thumb placement during cutting. The waffle-textured FRN handle comes with a reversible pocket clip.
