In early 2013, the Transportation Security Administration announced plans to once again allow knives on airplanes. Although that plan was later withdrawn, Spyderco was ready with a unique non-locking design called the Roadie. Essentially a highly evolved pocketknife, the Roadie’s

full-flat-ground sheepsfoot-style blade features the new “Double Dent” for easy two-handed, fingernail-free opening. The enhanced slipjoint mechanism holds the blade open during use and is backed by a pronounced choil to help prevent accidental closure. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales and strategically placed jimping on the spine and backspring provide comfortable ergonomics that allow this knife to perform far beyond its size. Clearly setting a new standard in modern pocketknives, the Roadie is available in a variety of color options.
