"Sonoma" is the latest design in our ACE line of unlimited production knives. If you've seen photos of the Sonoma on Instagram or Facebook, it should come as no surprise that much of our inspiration for this model came from the GiantMouse GM3, an elegant gentleman's folder that was very well received by our customers in 2017.

Although the Sonoma is part of our ACE line, we decided to go all out on this first release from our newest manufacturer, Reate Knives. We designed it with a milled titanium skeletonized clip rather than the standard wire clip of the ACE line, along with anodized titanium pivot collars and a backspacer similar to what we did on the limited-edition knives in the GM line. At launch, two versions of the Sonoma were available – one in stonewashed titanium with a satin finish and one in PVD titanium with a lightly stonewashed blade.

In May 2021, we released the Deep Pocket Carry Clip for the Titanium Sonoma, and going forward every Titanium Sonoma clip sold will include this clip as an accessory, so you can swap the milled titanium clip for the deep-carry clip as needed. The Deep Pocket Carry Clips are made from titanium by Reate Knives.

Our decision to name this folder is a nod to Sonoma County, located north of GiantMouse's original headquarters in Marin County, California. Sonoma is known for its scenic beauty – rolling hills and valleys, acre upon acre of vineyards, and more than 250 wineries. With its enticing landscape, together with amazing food and wine that never seem to end, Sonoma is the perfect place for the GiantMouse team to get our creative juices flowing.
