Detailed product description

Fixed Blade Knife Rockstead DON-ZDP Mirror Blade Ironwood Handle

This is one of Rockstead’s flagship fixed-blade models. The DON-ZDP features a 5.56" ZDP-189 clad in VG10 steel, a mirror-finished blade, and an ironwood handle. The mirror finish is achieved through heat treatment of the blade and progressive hand polishing using 400, 600, 800, 1,200, and 2,000 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Rockstead knives are incredibly sharp, and with enough force, this knife will cut through a phone book like butter. It is a very intensive and time-consuming process, because if any scratch occurs during it, the blade must be sent back to the previous step for refinishing. Once this is completed, the blade is polished for the final finish. The people at Rockstead have mastered this process to give the knife a beautiful finish and a razor-sharp edge unlike any other. Each knife is individually numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.

With proper maintenance, Rockstead knives are known to retain a sharp edge for 2-3 years.
